'Hedge-against-loss-of-income' as a service

The insurance biz provides us with a hedge against real risks in our lives. However, the new world is pushing unknown risks, and hence the new customer needs to the fore. New business models in the insurance space are emerging to address these, and insurance Tech is hot!

Another significant risk (and a changing one) we all face is loss of income (job (in)security, retirement, accident, obsolescence, etc.). Pensions, PPFs, endowment-life insurance, investments in general, unemployment allowance (not in India), etc., address a part of the need.

But, there is a scope to do so much more by unbundling it from there. Maybe a subscription-based plan. Perhaps some other model. Whatever it is, such service would make social and business sense.
